Welcome to Pet Portal. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Pet Portal mobile application and web platform (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using Pet Portal, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Service Description

Pet Portal is a free pet and farm animal management platform. It provides tools for health tracking, breeding records, farm property management, AI-assisted care recommendations, and community features for pet owners, hobby farmers, and breeders. The Service is provided at no cost and includes all available modules and features without restrictions.

2. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and to keep your information up to date. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at legal@petportal.app.

3. User Content

You retain full ownership of all content you create, upload, or store on Pet Portal. This includes pet profiles, health records, breeding data, farm records, photos, and any other information you enter. We do not claim any ownership rights over your content.

By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This license ends when you delete your content or your account.

You can export all of your data at any time using the built-in export features. Your data belongs to you, and we make it easy to take it with you if you ever choose to leave.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Pet Portal in a lawful and respectful manner. You may not:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
• Upload content that is harmful, abusive, threatening, or promotes violence toward animals or people.
• Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure.
• Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service without our written permission.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity.
• Use the Service to send spam, unsolicited messages, or commercial solicitations to other users.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Intellectual Property

The Pet Portal name, logo, design, and all software code are owned by Pet Portal and its licensors. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or branding without our prior written consent. Your content remains yours — our intellectual property remains ours.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

Pet Portal is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. Pet Portal is not a substitute for professional veterinary advice. Always consult a qualified veterinarian for medical decisions regarding your animals.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pet Portal and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. This includes, but is not limited to, damages for loss of data, loss of profits, or interruption of service. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us, which is zero dollars since the Service is free.

8. Termination

You may delete your account and all associated data at any time through the account settings in the app. Upon deletion, all of your data, including pet profiles, health records, and farm data, will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. In the event of termination for cause, we will provide you with reasonable notice and an opportunity to export your data before deletion, unless the violation poses an immediate risk to the Service or other users.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States of America, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey.
